I trained as a primary school teacher with a particular interest in biology. However I was much more interested in helping people of all ages in a one to one setting. Having always been fascinated by acupuncture and the philosophy behind it I gained a B.Ac in 1981. I practiced for a while before having 4 sons and became a full time mother following the realisation that they were dyslexic and had some other difficulties. In this way my interest in children with special needs developed. Suffering from migraines for many years I came across Bowen Therapy which, with some dietary adjustment I found to be very beneficial and relaxing. I also found it helped my sons and other family members. Now they have grown I have embarked on a career as a Bowen therapist.
In 2010 I trained with the European College of Bowen Studies, now known as the College of Bowen Studies, in a series of 5 modules. I regularly attend Continuing Professional Development courses to update and expand my knowledge. I am a member of the Bowen Therapy Professional Association and is also a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists abiding by their code of ethics and professional practice.
I find the human body and it's capacity to adapt and heal itself fascinating and amazing. It gives me huge pleasure and satisfaction to be able to prompt the body in such a subtle and gentle manner to do just that!
Bowen Therapy is a simple, gentle and effective form of body work.
